ABOUT THE EACC
Dear Colleague,
I am writing to personally invite you to join your professional organization, the
Education Association of Charles County (EACC). As the president and spokesperson for the
Association, it is my proud duty to lead the EACC, which represents all teachers and
administrators in our Negotiated Agreement process as well as mediates grievances for
teacher rights. In addition, we lobby our lawmakers to fund public education that includes our
salaries as well as the necessary funds to run our schools. Please join me in my efforts to be
an advocate for teachers and great public schools for all children.
Teachers, we'll be there when you need help. In the world of Public Education, problems sometimes arise, including:
- Charges of Child Abuse (including Mental Abuse and Sexual Abuse), and Assault of students, including charges "use of excessive force" in restraining students or breaking up a fight
- Lawsuits alleging negligence (criminal or civil), resulting in injury to students
- Lawsuits alleging discrimination or violation of student's civil rights
- Lawsuits alleging "failure to educate"
- Unfair evaluations or observations from supervisors
- Wrongful dismissals or suspensions
- Alleged violation of IDEA or other Special Education Laws
- Workers Compensation and injuries on the job
- Health and Safety/Environmental conditions
- Accommodations for disabilities (ADA)
- Certification disputes/questions-provisional, second class, etc.
- Parent complaints
- Conflicts with other staff
- Problems with the State Retirement System's decisions
- Involuntary Tranfers
The EACC and MSTA will advocate and defend MEMBERS ONLY in any of the above areas. We provide $1 Million in Liability Insurance and Free expert Legal Services.
Non-members are on their own for all of the above! The Association is YOUR advocate.
Unlike the Board of Education, whose allegiance is also to the parents, students, community leaders, other government
agencies and funding authorities, The EACC works only for you. Don't go it alone. Join the Association today!
